Spatial Statistics and Image Analysis in Biology | |
24 - 26 May 2023 |
SSIAB (Spatial Statistics in Image Analysis in Biology) is an informal workshop, which has been organized bi-annually since 1996. The workshop gathers together approximately 50 to 70 top-level researchers in spatial statistics and image analysis mainly from whole Europe. The workshop was earlier known as "French-Danish workshop on spatial statistics and image analysis in biology".
A fundamental goal of the workshop is to strengthen networking of the researchers in the field of spatial statistics and image analysis, and especially on spatial and spatio-temporal point processes. A particular attention will be given to interactions between these stochastic processes and high-dimensional problem, large data, machine learning.
Because of rather focused topic, the participant pool is quite stable and includes established top-level researchers in spatial statistics as regular participants. The event is also a very important networking event for the new generation of researchers. The workshop is especially beneficial for PhD students to get inspiration and support for their research. Therefore, young researchers are prioritized when planning program for the conference.
The conference is free and includes access to the conference, coffee-breaks, lunches and conference dinner. Given the limited budget the audience is restricted to 60 participants. Registration is open in priority to participants from previous editions. When registering, you will be invited to submit a preliminary abstract (2-3 lines max, longer versions will be required later). We expect around 30 talks.
Program will be updated after talks selection. Conference starts Wed. 24 May at 9am and should end Friday 26 May at 3pm.
